7-9 year olds
Below you will find some more information about the teachers working in Year 3/4 this year as well as a summary of our curriculum for each term.
During the Spring Term, we will be learning about the rivers. This essential geography topic will allow children to discover and explore our local river, the river Great Ouse, and compare it to other rivers around the world. Children will explore the significance of rivers on civilisations.
Within English, we will continue to develop our sentence structure to ensure that it is grammatically correct and engaging for a reader. We will move onto writing non-chronological and fictional texts for entertainment. Our writing this term will be linked to our core reading texts ‘The Wild Robot’ and ‘Varmints.’
Through Maths lessons, pupils will continue to develop their number and place value knowledge including using the four operations - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will use these essential skills in other areas of maths, such as fractions and money, later on in the term.
PE this term will focus on yoga and basketball. Through both of these sports, children will learn the core skills of movement, balance, agility and control.
In PSHE, we will learn about our citizenship and our responsibilities when decision making and the impact this will have on us and others lives.
