4-5 year olds
This term, in Ash and Aspen classes, we will be starting our new topic ‘A Stomp and a Roar’. We will become palaeontologists by researching dinosaurs, investigating and researching different dinosaur’s species and their journey from an egg all the way to extinction. Looking at their habitats and how they might be different from animals today, exploring and discussing different diets of the dinosaurs and other interesting facts along the way.
To develop our communication and language skills, we will discover new words and names associated with dinosaurs exploring reptiles. In our carpet sessions we will be discussing and having a look at a range of artefacts. As we research different dinosaurs we will be making predictions and having exciting experiences to expand our knowledge and curiosity. Our role play will reflect on the different habitats and having a museum full of the artefacts where the children can be encouraged to use the language used and explore the meaning.
Every Thursday afternoon is Forest School for Ash & Aspen classes and we love it! We enjoy spending time in the forest, climbing trees and observing the changes in the forest through the seasons. We will need to wrap up warm for the forest this half term as we explore the transition of Winter into Spring
